my memory L A N E

This picture was taken 2 winters ago.... in my hometown of Pakistan.

I have so many memories safely stored in the bricks of this lane...

My cousins playing...
The yearly goat being tied to that very tree for Eid-ul-Adha
The soon to be dead son in the father's arms...
The frustration of my grandfather because he couldn't be saved...
Us climbing that very brick wall to sneak into are neighbors yard...
that door that lead to the clinic...that door that lead to the kitchen....
that dream I had as a child of a murder sneaking into our home..and me hiding behind that water heater...


This very spot..when the five of us left our old life..our family...our country...for America
My grandmother tearing up the the parting...her confusion. "wait..they're leaving forever?" My grandfather soothing her while he hid his pain.... That chocolate melting in my hands."


She passed away and so did he...and so did her sister...

and 10 yrs later...I walked back down memory lane..... and took this picture.

gosh...


I guess this is my first decent photomunipulation. The bleeding heart took me about 2 hrs. it's hard to do this...but worth the work.
